LED T5

Q: I currently have 5ft 49W T5 fluorescent installed in my garage; can I swap them for your 5ft LED T5 tube?

A: No, Your 49W T5 is classed as a High Output (HO) LED T5. 5ft LED T5 is equivalent to a 35W High Efficiency (HE) fluorescent T5, so although they are the same length, they are not compatible.

Q: Can I wire the LED T5 to mains instead of going through the ballast if my ballast isn't compatible?

A: No, our LED T5's must be used in conjunction with a compatible ballast and must not be wired to mains.

Q: Does it matter which way round I install the LED T5 tube into my fitting?

A: No, it does not matter which side the lamp stamp end is at for the tube to work, it can be installed in either direction.

Q: I have installed your LED T5 tubes into two of my fittings and the tubes light up on both fittings. I have checked your ballast compatibility sheet and the ballast I am using is not on the sheet or has an "X" next to it… Can I still use these ballasts with your LED T5 tubes?

A: No, you must remove the tubes immediately as there is a potential hazard. Although the tubes may light up; if there is an "X" on our compatibility sheet, then our testing has shown them not to be compatible with that ballast. If your ballast does not appear on our list; then we have not tested it yet and it may have the potential to be a hazard. Please feel free to send us the ballast so we can test for compatibility.
